Congratulations to compound archery star, Ella Gibson, who has been named The World Games Athlete of the Month for July 2025 by the International World Games Association. As The World Games Athlete of the Month, Ella will receive a diploma and a branded gift from the official sponsor.

Ella (25) from Cirencester is currently the World Number 1 and World Record Holder female compound archer and, following a big win at the fourth stage of the Hyundai Archery World Cup in Madrid last month, Ella has secured her spot at the Hyundai Archery World Cup Final in Nanjing, China in October. The final is the culmination of four stages held in: Florida, USA; Shanghai, China; Antalya, Turkey and Madrid, Spain.

Boosted by her success in Madrid and the honour of being July’s Athlete of the Month, Ella, who is also the reigning World Games champion, will be flying off in August 2025 to The World Games 2025 in Chengdu, China to defend her title and aiming for gold.

Heading into Chengdu, Ella’s approach is simple but effective: consistency and confidence. She has also taken practical steps to acclimatise to the summer heat and humidity by spending time in saunas and offsetting the effects of jet lag by sleeping on long-haul flights.

 “My strategy is always the same – be the best I can be. Be confident and leave nothing on the table,” Ella said. “I know all my competitors and their skills, so I feel mentally prepared.”
