Afternoon tea is dedicated to decadence

PLEASE NOTE:
Since this review was written in March 2019, Eynsham Hall is under new management and is now called Estelle Manor.

Eynsham Hall

Formerly one of Oxfordshire’s great country houses, Eynsham Hall still exudes the grandeur and opulence of a by-gone era, but with the stately home comforts of modern life and featuring the traditional English Afternoon Tea. At Eynsham Hall, partakers of this decadent classic custom can enjoy a teatime treat of savouries, sandwiches, tarts, cakes and, of course, scones. The cream of the crop is the orange and almond polenta cake with orange buttercream, but coming a very close second is the warm, sweet scone scenario served with strawberry jam and clotted cream.

Attention to detail has not gone amiss in this magnificent venue as you can enjoy your high tea in the charismatic library or cosily cushioned on one of the antique-style sofas in front of a roaring fire. In warmer months, there is nothing better than eating al fresco on the beautiful terrace overlooking some of the 3,000 acres of parkland while supping an Earl Grey, Oxford Brew or Darjeeling First Flush. The list of teas is endless. What better way to spoil a loved one or even yourself with a cake-stand jam-packed full of sweets and savouries with or without an indulgent glass of champagne?

The extremely delicious and delightful Afternoon Tea experience is not the only reason to visit Eynsham Hall. This is a very special venue heaven-made for the Perfect Escape with 101 bedrooms located in the grounds and 34 spectacular rooms in the Main Hall, each individually designed with sweeping views. If you are into Leisure Facilities and Fitness, why not try out the indoor pool, burn off some of the Afternoon Tea calories in the gym or at a fitness class?

Unfortunately, life does sometimes have to be all work and no play, but Business Meetings, Conferences and Corporate Events are made so much more enjoyable by the generous meeting and function rooms, many with views, but all with aesthetically pleasing interior design choices and a free high-speed internet connection.

So, whatever your reason for visiting Eynsham Hall – whether it be for business or a relaxing break – make sure that, whilst you are here, you settle down to a meal dedicated to decadence! Eynsham Hall’s Afternoon Tea is all about lip-licking sweetness, crust-free sandwiches, freshly-baked, crumbling scones and, of course, a good cup of tea!
